NEW CHALLENGE: A new PM?

The next British Prime Minister is being selected by the Conservative Party. The choices are a) Boris Johnson OR b) Jeremy Hunt.

Who would you choose, and why?

Do you think it is reasonable that the 160,000 members of the Conservative Party should choose the new PM?

Is the UK heading for a general election this Autumn? Should it be?

I recently read that our country is still run by a privately educated elite.  See this article in the Guardian https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2019/jun/25/britain-ruled-private-educated-people-culture-deference Both Boris Johnson and Jeremy Hunt are part of this elite. Sajid Javid who was educated at a state comprehensive and is the son of Pakistani parents didn't make it to the finals.  I think it is a big problem that members of our government are so out of touch with...

I read that it is a new thing for party members to vote for the leader, and that this is suppose to make it more democratic. But I don't get why it is ok NOT to have a general election when there is going to be a new PM. Wouldn't it be better to immediately have a general election when that happens? Over 45 million voters in this country...and less than 200,000 actually have a say in who leads our government? That's crazy!

Totally pointless. They are the real zombies, anything to make Brexit happen no matter what it does to the country.

We need a party of remain so that we can stop Brexit or at least stop crashing out and maybe think about what we want for a bit longer. I wish Labour and LibDems and SNP and Greens would all work together.

Boris Johnson and Jeremy Hunt would both be terrible PMs. The only way you can tell them apart is from their hair. Otherwise they basically  have the same views about Brexit which is not what the majority of people in this country want and definitly not what young people want.

It isn't fair that only members of the Conservative Party get to choose the new prime minister especially when this will decide the whole future of the country because of where we are now with Brexit. There should be a general election as soon as the new Conservative leader is chosen, so that all voters can chose the new PM.
