Generation Brexit

A Precarious Equilibrium

Brexit, especially in the last months, seems a complicated and uncertain question in which each move might either destroy or save EU-UK cooperation. Like the Mikado pick-sticks stick close to each other in a delicate balance, the two actors, deeply culturally and economically interrelated, stand in a precarious equilibrium which might break at any time. Recent events, indeed, left the world with bated breath. Since the rejection of the deal proposed with the EU, the stability of EU-UK relations seems fragile; the possibility of hard Brexit, and the consequent abrupt interruption of relation with the European Union, has not vanished. As in the Mikado game, the next move seems more and more difficult and the possibility of agreement more and more unlikely.
