Us vs them

Brexit has impacted multiculturalism and minority groups by giving rise to new boundaries/identities of exclusion. The rhetoric associated with Brexit has highlighted narratives of "us vs them" and "otherness," on the basis of which people have excluded certain groups or values. If we consider one of the main Brexit "issues" - migration - it was really a discussion based on values and society, rather than of economic issues as it stated to be. Brexit and its "us first" nationalist rhetoric has given voice to a lot of discontent and was a defining point in how many people truly felt about multiculturalism.
