Why should London get a better deal from Brexit than the rest of us? I live in Liverpool and would want to know that our negotiators are doing their best to get the best deal for the British people, which includes us. In fact, we're more British up here than the London lot. Brexit clearly is a problem for London, but it's had it good for too long at our expense. Maybe a bit of redistribution would do us all good.

I don't want courts getting involved in what is a matter for democracies and their elected representatives. If the arrangement is a customs union deal, then let's be honest, we aren't going to get away from the EU court and its oversight. Beyond getting us a good deal, politicians should be honest about this. When Philip Hammond says preferential customs arrangement without European courts being involved, he is not being straight with us.

My family is originally from Northern Ireland, so this is a big one for me. No - I think a special arrangement needs to be made for the Irish border. We can't go back to the ways of the past.

Britain and the EU countries should agree this at the same time. Whatever one gets, the other should also get. All the Europeans living in Britain now should be able to stay, as long as they are working and/or contributing to the real economy. Same for Brits living in the EU.

Britain and the EU should settle on a total amount and split it half and half. That's fair and square. This will keep relations good in the future. I am thinking about the Treaty of Versailles. It was too harsh on Germany and led to Hitler. Britain has not even lost a war. It's just decided to leave. The EU doesn't want an angry Britain. Nor does the EU its own countries feeling sorry about the bad treatment towards Britain. They might fancy getting out too then.
